Andreas Perreiter (37) is Chief Operating Officer and founder of amaysim, Australia’s first low cost mobile service provider, dedicated to delivering simplicity, fairness and low prices to mobile consumers with its customer centric mobile services and low cost guarantee.
In 2005, Andreas became a founding partner of Shark Holding GmbH, an investment and management company that combines extensive knowledge in business strategy, marketing, sales, operations, and finance with investment intelligence in the online and telecommunications market sector.
Shark Holding launched its first venture, simyo, in 2005 which quickly became the world’s largest online mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in Europe. As Chief Operating Officer and Founder of simyo, Andreas was responsible for operations and the technical set up. He oversaw the launch for the simyo derivatives in the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and France.
Following a successful earn-out period in 2010, Andreas and the founding team decided to embark on a new entrepreneurial challenge, with Shark Holding as their investment vehicle and launch amaysim in Australia.
As an independent IT project consultant in 2003, Andreas started his own company operating under the name Andreas Perreiter IT Consulting. Among his projects in Munich, Andreas worked on the relaunch of the website for major TV channel, ProSieben.
In his first entrepreneurial activity, Andreas was employed by shopping comparison website - Letsbuyit.com from 1999 to 2003. Starting as IT Coordinator and later promoted to IT Manager, Andreas was responsible for both the global IT infrastructure and the international website.
Between 1998 and 1999, Andreas worked as a freelance IT consultant in Munich for law firms, tax advisers and holding companies. He began his career in 1997 at ChemRex Inc. in Minneapolis, where he worked on his first commercial website launch.
Andreas studied electrical engineering, informatics and telecommunications at Munich Technical University.
In his spare time, Andreas likes to spend time with his family in his new home Australia. His passions are extreme skiing, mountaineering, intercontinental motorbiking and travelling off the beaten track.
