Thomas S. Enge

Thomas S. Enge (45) is Chief Financial Officer and founder of amaysim, Australia’s first low cost mobile service provider, dedicated to delivering simplicity, fairness and low prices to mobile consumers with its customer centric mobile services and low cost guarantee.

In 2005, Thomas became a Founding Partner of Shark Holding GmbH, an investment and management company that combines extensive knowledge in business strategy, marketing, sales, operations, and finance with investment intelligence in the online and telecommunications market sector.

Shark Holding launched its first venture, simyo, in 2005 which quickly became the world’s largest online based mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), operating in Germany, Spain, France, Netherlands and Belgium. As Chief Finance Officer and Founder of simyo, Thomas was responsible for finance, legal and corporate governance. He oversaw the launch for the simyo derivatives in the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and France. In 2009 he became responsible for steering the international profit and loss account for simyo right across Europe.

Following a successful earn-out period in 2010, Thomas and the founding team decided to embark on a new entrepreneurial challenge with Shark Holding as their investment vehicle and launch amaysim in Australia.

Between 2001–2005, Thomas held the post of managing partner with Corporate Finance Advisor EW Equity Partners GmbH & Co. KG in Wiesbaden, where his clients in the corporate finance sector included MVV Energie AG, Trianel GmbH and ProSieben Sat1 Media AG.

Expanding his finance experience in 1996, Thomas became a Managing Partner at the independent Corporate Finance Advisory bd & co business development & concepts GmbH in Frankfurt. From 1996 – 2001, he acted as sole advisor in a number of successful initial public offerings and other fundraising transactions.

In 1990, Thomas joined S.G. Warburg Securities in London before joining Colonia-Konzern AG in Cologne in 1993.

Thomas studied at the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel, graduating with a degree in economics specialising in investment, finance and taxes.

In his spare time, Thomas is an avid sailor and diver and likes to play golf if time permits.
